wine notes

2014 15 Pinot Grigio

The Fruit:

The fruit for this wine is sourced from the premium wine regions of South Australia. The 2014 vintage produced low crops and small berries which ripened perfectly giving rich, concentrated flavours and excellent acid retention, which will all be reflected in the quality of the Pinot Grigio.

The Winemaking:

The fruit was de-stemmed and the whole berries were gently pressed to reduce the amount of phenolics extracted and keep the delicate fruit flavours to the fore. Low temperatures were used throughout fermentation, with the wine left on lees for a month to add texture to the palate.

The Comments:

The 2014 Pinot Grigio is a full bodied style from an exceptional vintage. Pale yellow in colour with lovely aromas and flavours of pear, peach and sweet spice. The palate is soft and creamy with a complimentary crisp citrus finish. A great example of modern Australian Pinot Grigio in a refreshing, food friendly style.

Sweet and very floral on the nose, with more of the same on the nice long palate.

A fairly forward poached pear style. Full flavoured but grippy, with a lemon rind finish.
